The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
